The "Combine" is a well-known term to all college football players who are trying to be selected by the National Football
League. Every year the top college football players from around the nation are invited to attend and workout in the NFL Combine
that takes place in Indianapolis, IN. During this time, scouts and coaches from the NFL evaluate each player. The results
of each evaluation, along with a player’s college performance, are used to identify the top players for the draft.
The WHSFL is proud to be part of the creation of a Combine that is for WHSFL players in hopes of getting recruited to a
post-secondary school where they can continue to play football. A special thanks is extended to Sean Esselmont, (Kinesiology
Student, University of Winnipeg) for his assistance in bringing this program to the WHSFL.
During the WHSFL, the athletes will perform a variety of skills and agility drills that will showcase their talents, improve
their exposure, and possibly lead to scholarship opportunities.
The WHSFL will take place during May each year during the WHSFL Spring camp period, that culminates at the "Thunder on
the Prairies". Since we are expecting the top football players in Winnipeg, this will be an excellent opportunity for colleges
to evaluate potential recruits.
